The Akira class starship is a fan favorite "background ship" seen in the battle for Earth in the film Star Trek: First Contact. When we released our T6 version of the Akira for Star Trek Online, I also went back and updated our original Akira model, adding detail and re-mappping the textures to make it more accurate. This was not a complete rebuild as the original model's general shape was accurate. The original Akira model was made by a previous member of the Star Trek Online art team.
